Congratulations to Brett McCloughan, our July Athlete of the Month! Brett has been part of the C3 Community for two years now. In that time, we have seen Brett make an amazing transformation. He has adopted a healthy lifestyle and the results are definitely showing. Brett has made his health and fitness a priority. This change in Brett’s lifestyle will likely add years to his life and put more life in those years. Brett has been working hard, without a doubt. He has seen great results in his body composition as he continues to lose weight while adding muscle (which is clear by looking at pictures of him from just a year ago). His performance in the gym has also steadily improved since starting his fitness journey at C3. His endurance is significantly better than it was when he first started; he’s getting stronger every day, and he is able to some amazing things like handstand push-ups, toes-2-bar, and pull-ups. Despite the great results, Brett is still not satisfied. He works his tail off every time he steps into the gym and even gets in extra work when there are Open Gym opportunities. Keep up the good work, Brett!

Born and raised in Springfield, grew up mostly on the north end, go Lanphier! Lived in St Louis for 10 years. Came back to Springfield in March 2019 and started CrossFit in May that same year.

How did you get to know about CrossFit and why did you start?
My mom dragged me into it, and got me signed up for On Ramp.

CrossFit saved my life, for real. I had never been active and didn’t really care about my health until I started CrossFit. I smoked 2 packs of cigarettes, ate like trash and drank myself stupid everyday. Everything about my life has changed since starting CrossFit and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this community.
Name one goal and/or personal record you would like to accomplish through CrossFit.
I just want to be better today than I was yesterday.
