In general, what is your background?
I grew up in Chatham, IL and went to EIU. I’m married to Michael Greene and mother to Elise Greene and Emery Greene.
Age, Occupation?
I will be 49 on September 25th! Bring it on! I’m the Senior Technical Corporate Recruiter at Levi, Ray and Shoup, Inc. here in town.
How did you get to know about CrossFit and why did you start?
Michael made me drink the Kool-Aid.
How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, level of fitness?
I was always active in sports in high school – I was the first girl on the boys golf team at Glenwood. I loved track/field – ran sprints and high jumped. In college – stayed active in intermural sports. CrossFit has allowed me to continue to be active and keep up with the kids – who are both very busy with their sports of dance and weightlifting/football. I believe that living a healthy lifestyle is fundamental for my future years. My level of fitness has grown by leaps and bounds – it’s fun to see how far the body can be pushed in CrossFit. Hunker down and enjoy the pain cave. Michael and I also enjoy doing Spartan races – after a few sprints we conquered a Sprint this spring in Seattle. Our next goal is the Beast which is 13 miles.
Name one goal and/or personal record you would like to accomplish through CrossFit.
Goals – hmmm – Chest to Bar Pull-ups, master double-unders, hspus and maybe if do a muscle up. Who knows!!
Favorite CrossFit moment so far?
I love snatches – for some reason that movement is fun. I also love toes to rings – I love the sensation of flying thru the air.
What is your least favorite WOD to date?
Kelly – she can go fly a kite. 5 rounds of 400m run/30 box jumps/30 wall balls
What do you like most about Capital City CrossFit?
The shirts – we get a new one for every event… Ha – it’s the people! I have made so many close and long lasting friendships. I don’t know what I would do without my Nooners – it’s not only good for the body but it’s also my happy place mentally.
